El Gouna is a resort town on the Red Sea about 20 km north of Hurghada, built from the 1990s on a series of islands and lagoons. With its canals, colorful low-rise buildings, marina and beaches, it is one of the most attractive places to stay on Egypt’s coast, and a great base for outdoor activities.
