The best time for a Nile cruise is from October to April, when days are warm and sunny and evenings cool. But each season has its own character.
October and November
Warm days and fewer crowds than midwinter. An excellent time.
December to February
The peak season, with the most pleasant daytime temperatures, around 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F), and cold early mornings and evenings. Christmas and New Year are the busiest weeks.
March and April
Warming up, with spring flowers on the riverbanks. Easter is busy.
May to September
Hot, often above 40°C (104°F) in Luxor and Aswan, but quiet and good value. Sightseeing starts at dawn, and the pool and shaded deck make afternoons easy. Summer 2027 includes the total solar eclipse on 2 August.
