Tour Description
The short version of the Lake Nasser cruise: three nights sailing north from Abu Simbel to Aswan, past Nubian temples that can only be reached by water. It suits travelers who want to see Abu Simbel properly, in the afternoon light and again by night, without the long day trip from Aswan.

Itinerary
Day 1: Board at Abu Simbel
You board your 5-star ship at around 1:00 PM for lunch. At 2:00 PM your Egyptologist takes you to the Great Temple of Ramses II and the temple of Queen Nefertari, dedicated to Hathor. In the evening the sound and light show can be arranged on request.
Meals: Lunch, dinner. Overnight: on board, Abu Simbel.
Day 2: Qasr Ibrim and Amada
The ship sails north at 7:30 AM and reaches Qasr Ibrim late in the morning, where you photograph the island fortress from the deck, as landing is not allowed. In the afternoon you visit Amada, the oldest surviving temple in Nubia, built by Thutmose III, along with the rock temple of Derr and the tomb of Pennut. The evening ends with a cocktail party and a Nubian folklore show.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: on board, Wadi el-Seboua.
Day 3: Wadi el-Seboua and sailing to Aswan
An early visit to Wadi el-Seboua, “the Valley of the Lions”, with its avenue of sphinxes leading to the temple of Ramses II. The rest of the day is spent sailing towards Aswan.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: on board, Aswan.
Day 4: Kalabsha and disembarkation
After breakfast and check-out you visit the Temple of Kalabsha, a Roman-era temple for the Nubian god Mandulis, rebuilt on an island near the High Dam. We then take you to Aswan Airport or your hotel.

It depends on group size: $3,000 per person for a solo traveler, $2,500 each for 2 to 3, $2,000 for 4 to 8, $1,500 for 9 to 15 and $1,000 for 16 or more.
How do I get to Abu Simbel to board?
By a short flight from Aswan or Cairo, or by private car from Aswan, about three and a half hours.
Is there a longer version?
Yes. Our 4-night cruise sails the other way, from Aswan to Abu Simbel.
What is the best time for Lake Nasser?
October to April. Summer is very hot in the open desert around the lake.
How long is a Nile cruise?
Usually four nights from Luxor or three nights from Aswan. Dahabiyas take four to five nights.
