Itinerary
The Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo and Khan el-Khalili
Your private Egyptologist collects you from your hotel and takes you to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, which has more than 100,000 objects from every period of ancient Egypt, including royal statues, jewelry and the Tanis treasures. After lunch at a Nile-view restaurant, you explore Coptic Cairo: the Hanging Church, built over a gate of the Roman fortress of Babylon, the church of Abu Serga, where the Holy Family is said to have sheltered, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. You end with a walk through Khan el-Khalili before driving back.

No. The Tutankhamun collection has moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum. We can swap or add the GEM on request.
What should I wear in Old Cairo?
Clothes that cover shoulders and knees, as you will visit churches and a synagogue.
Is it a walking tour?
Partly. Old Cairo and the bazaar are explored on foot, on mostly level streets.
