Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Karnak
You fly to Luxor and visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Then you continue by carriage or car to Karnak: the Avenue of Sphinxes, the unfinished pylon, the Great Hypostyle Hall with 134 columns, the obelisks of Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, the granite scarab and the sacred lake. You check in to your hotel.
Meals: Lunch, dinner. Overnight: hotel, Luxor.
Day 2: Balloon flight, Medinet Habu and Deir el-Medina
At dawn you float over the West Bank in a hot air balloon for about 45 minutes. Then you visit Medinet Habu, the vast temple of Ramses III with its brightly painted reliefs, and Deir el-Medina, the village of the craftsmen who cut the royal tombs, whose own tombs are still vividly colored. After lunch you fly back to Cairo.
