Tour Description
Three nights on a 5-star dahabiya, the traditional two-masted sailing boat of the Nile, from Aswan to Esna, with a day in Luxor at the end. With only a handful of cabins, a dahabiya is quiet and private, moors at riverbanks and islands rather than crowded quays, and lets you see the Nile the way 19th-century travelers did.

Itinerary
Day 1: Aswan, board the dahabiya
We pick you up in the morning from Aswan Airport, your hotel or anywhere in Aswan. You visit the High Dam, built in the 1960s, and Philae Temple, built under Ptolemy II for the cult of Isis, who brought her husband Osiris back to life. Then you board your dahabiya and begin sailing north.
Meals: Lunch, dinner. Overnight: dahabiya.
Day 2: Kom Ombo
After breakfast your guide takes you to Kom Ombo, built between about 180 and 47 BC, with one half for Sobek, the crocodile god, and one for Horus the Elder. The boat then sails on towards Edfu.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: dahabiya.
Day 3: Edfu
You visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, built between 237 and 57 BC and the best-preserved temple in Egypt. The boat continues to Esna for your last night on board.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: dahabiya, Esna.
Day 4: Disembark at Esna and tour Luxor
After breakfast you leave the boat at Esna and drive to Luxor, about an hour. You visit the Valley of the Kings, where some 63 tombs have been found, the Temple of Hatshepsut and Karnak, before we take you to your hotel, the airport or the station.
