Tour Description
A short, good-value trip to Cairo and Alexandria. You spend one full day at the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and Khan el-Khalili, and one day on the Mediterranean exploring Alexandria’s Greco-Roman past, with a private Egyptologist and a private car throughout.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cairo
A King Tut Tours representative meets you inside the arrivals hall, helps with entry formalities and drives you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours.
Overnight: Cairo hotel.
Day 2: Giza Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and Khan el-Khalili
Your Egyptologist takes you to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built around 2560 BC from some 2.3 million blocks, then the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple with its pink granite pillars. After lunch you visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square for the Tanis treasures, the statues of Rahotep and Nofret and other masterpieces, and end the day in Khan el-Khalili.

Day 3: Day trip to Alexandria
A private car takes you about three hours north on the desert highway to Alexandria. You go down into the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, a three-level Roman burial complex from the 2nd century AD where Egyptian, Greek and Roman styles meet, and see Pompey’s Pillar, a 27-meter column of red Aswan granite raised in 297 AD for the emperor Diocletian. After a seafood lunch by the harbor you visit the Qaitbay Citadel, built in 1477 on the site of the ancient Pharos lighthouse, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, with its tilted granite disc carved with letters from the world’s scripts. You return to Cairo in the evening.

Day 4: Departure
Breakfast and some free time, then a transfer to Cairo International Airport, where our representative helps you with check-in.

It depends on group size: $2,600 per person for a solo traveler, $2,300 each for 2 to 3, $2,200 for 4 to 8, $1,800 for 9 to 15 and $1,000 for 16 or more.
Is Tutankhamun's mask in the Egyptian Museum?
No, the Tutankhamun collection is now in the Grand Egyptian Museum near the pyramids. We can swap the Egyptian Museum for the GEM, or add it, on request.
How long is the drive to Alexandria?
