Cairo and Aswan in six days, with two relaxed nights in Aswan, the most laid-back city on the Nile. You see the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, fly south for the High Dam, Philae and Abu Simbel, and finish with an afternoon in Khan el-Khalili.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cairo and Nile dinner cruise
A King Tut Tours representative meets you at your arrival gate, helps with passport control and luggage, and drives you to your 5-star hotel. In the evening you board a Nile dinner cruise with a buffet, a folk band, a belly dance show and the whirling Tanoura dance.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, fly to Aswan
Your private Egyptologist takes you to the Giza Plateau for the three great pyramids, the six queens’ pyramids, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx. After lunch you visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, open since 1902. In the evening you fly to Aswan.

Day 3: Aswan: the High Dam and Philae
Your guide takes you to the High Dam, built in the 1960s with Soviet engineers to control the Nile flood and create Lake Nasser. After lunch you take a boat to Philae Temple, the temple of Isis that UNESCO moved to Agilkia Island.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch. Overnight: 5-star hotel, Aswan.
Day 4: Abu Simbel
An early start with breakfast boxes and a private air-conditioned car to Abu Simbel, the temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari on the shore of Lake Nasser. You return to Aswan for lunch, and the afternoon is free for the hotel or the market.

Day 5: Fly to Cairo and Khan el-Khalili
After breakfast you fly back to Cairo from Aswan. Your guide then takes you into Islamic Cairo for an afternoon in Khan el-Khalili, the 14th-century bazaar, for spices, lanterns, silver and souvenirs, with lunch at a good restaurant nearby.

Day 6: Fly home
After breakfast our representative takes you to Cairo International Airport and helps with check-in and departure.

How much does the 6-day Cairo, Aswan and Abu Simbel tour cost?
It depends on group size: $5,800 per person for a solo traveler, $5,300 each for 2 to 3, $4,900 for 4 to 8, $4,500 for 9 to 15 and $3,000 for 16 or more.
Why stay two nights in Aswan?
It gives you a relaxed day for the High Dam and Philae and a separate day for Abu Simbel, instead of squeezing everything into one.
Can I add a felucca ride?
Yes. A sunset felucca sail around Elephantine Island is easy to add on day 3 or 4.
Can I add Luxor?
Yes. Add a day and take the train from Aswan to Luxor, then fly back to Cairo from there.
