Six days exploring the UNESCO heritage of Lower Egypt, from the pyramid fields of Giza, Saqqara and Dahshur to Historic Cairo, with a night by the Mediterranean in Alexandria.
Egypt has seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Cairo alone holds two: Memphis and its Necropolis, which runs from Giza through Saqqara to Dahshur, and Historic Cairo, with its medieval mosques, Coptic churches and bazaar.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cairo
A King Tut Tours representative meets you inside the airport, helps with your visa, passport control and luggage, and takes you to your guide and private driver for the transfer to your 5-star hotel. The evening is free, or you can join an optional Nile dinner cruise.
Overnight: 5-star hotel, Cairo.
Day 2: Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum
Your Egyptologist takes you to the Giza Plateau, part of the UNESCO site of Memphis and its Necropolis: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and the Sphinx. After lunch with a pyramid view, you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum and its complete Tutankhamun galleries.

Day 3: Saqqara and Dahshur, the birth of the pyramid
A day following how the pyramid was invented. At Saqqara you see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, designed by Imhotep, the first pyramid of all. At Dahshur you visit the two pyramids of King Sneferu: the Bent Pyramid, where the builders changed angle halfway up, and the Red Pyramid, the first true smooth-sided pyramid, which you can enter. Lunch is at a country restaurant on the way.

Day 4: Alexandria
You drive to Alexandria on the Mediterranean. You explore the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, Pompey’s Pillar, the Qaitbay Citadel on the site of the ancient lighthouse and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, with a seafood lunch in between, and spend the night by the sea.

Day 5: Back to Cairo, the Citadel and Khan el-Khalili
You return to Cairo in the morning. Your guide takes you to the Citadel of Salah el-Din and the Alabaster Mosque, part of the UNESCO-listed Historic Cairo, and after lunch to Khan el-Khalili.

Day 6: Fly home
After breakfast your driver takes you to Cairo International Airport and our representative helps with check-in.
