The pace is unhurried, with late-morning starts where possible, a private car that waits close to each site, regular rest stops and good restaurants for lunch. Your guide adapts the walking to you, and we are happy to arrange wheelchairs or extra help on request.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cairo
A King Tut Tours representative meets you inside the airport, helps you with your visa, passport control and luggage, and walks you out to your guide and private driver, who take you to your 5-star hotel. In the evening you can relax, or join an optional Nile dinner cruise with music and a folklore show.
Overnight: 5-star hotel, Cairo.
Day 2: The Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx
After breakfast your guide meets you in the lobby. At the Giza Plateau you see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built over some 20 years around 2560 BC and the largest pyramid ever made, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and the Sphinx, with the head of Khafre on the body of a lion. Your driver can bring you close to each viewpoint, so there is little walking on sand. Lunch is at a restaurant with a view of the pyramids.

Day 3: Fly to Luxor, the West Bank
After breakfast you fly to Luxor, where your guide and driver meet you. You visit the Valley of the Kings, where the painted tombs of Ramses II’s dynasty and the boy king Tutankhamun are cut into the mountain, the three-level Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch is at a Nile-view restaurant.

Day 4: Karnak, fly to Cairo
After check-out you visit Karnak, built over many generations across some 100 hectares, with the great Hypostyle Hall at its heart. After lunch you fly back to Cairo.

Day 5: Fly home
After breakfast and a relaxed check-out, your driver takes you to Cairo International Airport and our representative helps with check-in.

How much does the 5-day senior tour to Cairo and Luxor cost?
It depends on group size: $3,000 per person for a solo traveler, $2,500 each for 2 to 3, $2,000 for 4 to 8, $1,500 for 9 to 15 and $850 for 16 or more.
Are the tombs in the Valley of the Kings hard to reach?
The paths are paved and there is an electric shuttle from the visitor center. Inside, some tombs have steps and slopes, so your guide will choose the easiest ones.
Can I add a hot air balloon ride?
Yes. You stand in the basket for about 45 minutes, and climbing in and out needs some agility. Tell us about any mobility needs and we will advise honestly whether it suits you.
When is the best time for seniors to visit Egypt?
From October to April, when daytime temperatures are pleasant. We avoid midday sightseeing in the warmer months.
Are your tours suitable for seniors?
