 Catacombs of Kom El Shuqqafa

Alexandria, was established in 332 B.C. by Alexander the Great. The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa should be your first destination in this ancient city.

An example of the blending of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture can be seen in a family tomb at a Roman burial site. To see the tomb and Caracals Hall, descend below ground. Above ground again.

Pompey’s Pillar

The Roman amphitheater, which may be the best-preserved Roman site in Egypt, is the next location your guide will show you in keeping with the Roman theme. There are also remnants of Roman houses and streets at the location.

You will have an exterior view of the fort of Qaitbay, which was constructed in 1477 on the same location as Alexandria’s famous lighthouse, after lunch (extra charge). Next, go to the renowned Alexandria Library.
